AUTHOR BIO:Kathryn S Rose is a mum, wife, reader, writer, traveller, and food enthusiast. Writing a book was always on her bucket list, and finally, with Beautiful Facade, it has come into fruition.

Kathryn is interested in the study of human behaviour and obtained a Bachelor of Social Science, with a focus on Community studies and Welfare Work.

Since completing her studies, she has worked in several jobs, which have enhanced her understanding of social issues, human development, relationships, and lifestyle. Some of these insights are reflected in her writing and give her inspiration.

Besides books, Kathryn has many other loves. She enjoys listening to live music, relaxing at the beach, embarking on random hiking adventures, and indulging in too much food and wine with ​family and friends.

Can you tell us more about Liam, the fiance, and what drew Winter to him?

Liam is an attractive, driven, and very skilled football player. He is in the public eye, and it is important to him to be viewed positively. He has high expectations of himself and high expectations of Winter. Liam grew up in a wealthy family, lived in an affluent suburb in Melbourne, and attended a private school. This is in contrast to Winter, who grew up in Perth, lived in a traditional brick home, and went to a public school. Liam’s entire family are lawyers and aren’t very close. Not much about them is mentioned in the story as they are not very present in Liam’s life. Liam also has a best friend called Adam. Adam plays football and comes across to Winter as someone to be wary of and a sleaze. She has never got along with Adam; however, and Liam brushed off Winter’s concerns. On the surface, Liam is a knight in shining armour character who helped Winter overcome a crucial step on the road to healing. 

Liam and Winter met when Creating Together (the advertising company Winter works for) embarked on a campaign for Liam’s football club. They were both physically drawn to each other; however, at this point, Winter was still keeping her distance from men. Liam was not use to being turned down by women, which fuelled his attraction towards her. As such, Liam continued to pursue Winter, who was further encouraged to give him a chance by her work colleagues. Finally, once the campaign was over, they went on a date. The evening went well. Winter enjoyed Liam’s company and was respectful of her, which made her feel safe. After the date, they continued to see each other. I guess the rest is history!

I’ve written a prequel that reveals how Winter met Liam. I wanted to create a character that Winter loves and is attracted to, who loves her back. But he also needed to have some flaws, such as being selfish and making mistakes like everyone else. Especially for Kai to have any sort of chance to try and win Winter back.
