I asked Chole’s which are the top moments in Narnie’s life when she thought, “man, the Murphy’s law really works”.

I think Nairne’s had lots of Murphy’s Law moments! I don’t want to spoil things in Book Two, She’s a Spitfire, so I’ll keep it to a couple general ones and specific ones for Book One, He’s a Brute.

– Meeting a rough, combative lover right when she’s so close to closing a season of celibacy and sexual hibernation. Of course she has to meet the incarnation of her sexual kryptonite.
– Falling for the very person she can’t have. The one she has to leave, and whose life prohibits him from following her (for now J)
– Starting a new future after Boston doesn’t mean she can escape her past. Most people might reasonably expect to be able to move on. But in her case, of course she can’t. Not until she faces the last vestiges of her Dark Days in Paris.
