I’m having more and more of those…. isn’t it just great????
So, in honor of Strings of Betrayal that RELEASES TODAY (!!!!!!!), I’m going to let you into how it came to be. The famous “inspiration” behind the story.
I have to admit it wasn’t much about inspiration as it was about obsession.
For years – yes, years – I had a scene in my mind. I could see it every time I closed my eyes and thought about it.
When you read the story (will you???? come on!) you will definitely know what scene I’m talking about (I’ll just say that there’s a bar, a slow song, and Blake’s weeks of represses yearning. She’s the heroine of the story)(who is also one of my favorite heroine-ever)(actually they are my favorite couple, ever)(But I digress).
And when I found out there was going to be an anthology based on rockstars, I just knew I had dreamed and imagined and obsessed over that scene for them. It was them. Blake and Jack. So the entire story was, for me, just the narration of how they found themselves in that scene.
I think I wrote it all without even breathing. Just one day of punching on the keyboard until it was finally on the page, hence real.
It was such an emotional relief, like my heart, my brain, had finally found a way to unload it, and now it was at peace.
