New Release Tour: Heart and Soul by Karen Michelle Nutt and Meet the Author #Paranormal #Romance

Those little lines on the cover did their job pretty well, sing it’s what hooked me!

Heart and Soul by Karen Michelle Nutt will release this Saturday in the Paranormal Romance genre.

80s rock star, Haley Rose, and her boyfriend went missing without a trace on October 31, 1988, and were eventually presumed dead. Three decades later, thirty-year-old, Rowan Beckett, recalls things only Haley Rose would know, and she can belt out songs in the same unique fashion. However, Rowan couldn’t be the missing rock star since Haley would now be in her fifties. Could Haley Rose have come back reincarnated as Rowan Beckett? Or is Rowan as delusional as her family suspects?

The book will be on sale for $0.99 until July 25.

She carefully maneuvered her way down the dirt road where the foliage threatened to overtake the path, confirming her suspicions that no one had driven down here for quite some time. She glanced on either side of the road as she drove slowly, the worn gravel crunching beneath her tires. A flash of white in her peripheral vision made her rivet her gaze to the front where a woman stood in the road.

“Holy crap!”

She slammed on the breaks and swerved, knowing she was going to hit the woman no matter her attempts to avoid her. She careened into the bushes, bringing the car to an abrupt halt. Her seatbelt tightened against her and jarring her back against her seat. She sat there, squeezing the steering wheel. The only audible sound was her heart pounding in her ears. She whirled around in her seat to look toward the road. Had she hit the woman? She hadn’t heard the dreaded thud of soft tissue colliding against unforgiving metal. Her fingers fumbled to undo the seatbelt before she threw open her door. Swiping away the foliage, as she hurried up the incline to the dirt road. Dread laced its way up her spine threatening to choke her. Her gaze frantically searched the area for the woman. She jogged to the other side of the road. If she had hit the lady, maybe she’d been thrown in the opposite direction.

Nothing. Nada. No sign of anyone. Her gaze traveled back to her car as another horrific image came to mind, but she had to know. With heavy steps, she went back to investigate. She crouched down on her hands and knees and took a deep breath before she quickly glanced under her vehicle.

Is reincarnation something you believe in?

That is a complicated question, and I thought about it quite a bit while writing Heart and Soul. My character Kaleb, in the story, is a psychic, and he states it pretty close to the way I feel about it. He has this conversation with Rowan at one point.

Even if you don’t believe in ghosts or the afterlife, reincarnation can be approached analytically. We’re energy, and when we die, this energy doesn’t just vanish. The atoms of energy are still around. So the essence of our energy will continue to echo throughout space until the end of time. Keep in mind this is just my opinion. I’m not a scientist or pretend to be one. I believe the consciousness needs a body to express itself. What if the person, who thinks they are reincarnated, is so in-tune with the other side that this only proves another form of communication? Some people see ghosts. Some experience emotions or snippets of the person’s life. There’s no sure science, of course, to support this or why people have memories of past lives. I believe the energy of a person who no longer has a physical body may be strong enough to connect with a person who is an empath. Perhaps the feeling of being reborn is, in reality, the empath merely having the sensitivity to hear what others cannot.

So to answer the question, I’d have to say I do.
