AUTHOR BIO:T.L. always hated math, so it was a good thing she had a way with words. Since she was a shy and quirky kid; words were her best friends. She would imagine entire worlds in her head and talk to herself endlessly. Her mother wondered if she was speaking with ghosts for a while.

Her older sister was a voracious reader of trashy romance novels and would pass them down to her after she had finished them. T.L. was the only 10-year-old kid sitting in class reading “The Stud” by Jackie Collins during reading time. Oddly enough, she never got called out on it.

As she grew older, her tastes evolved, but one thing held fast; her undying attachment to love stories. One day out of the blue, she decided to write the love stories she always wanted to read instead of searching for her story. Since then, writing has been a dream fulfilled for her and she could not be happier.

She enjoys writing about love, regardless of gender and is a proud supporter of the LGBTQ community.

T.L. calls the Pacific Northwest her home and enjoys the quiet rural life of her little oceanside home with her playful/crazy husband and their giant dog Noah.

The synopsis tells us about their story, what was and what is going to be, but for those readers who might not know them, could you tell us something about them as people?

True Faith is the sequel to Just Like Heaven. It follows the lives and loves of a same-sex couple Noah and Josh, told from alternating points of view.
Noah Sinclair is an actor on a popular show named Americana. His life was turned upside down when the sexuality of the character he portrays was turned gay. It forces Noah to come to terms with his own hidden homosexuality when he meets his new co-star Josh Hill.
Originally from Tennessee, Noah was bullied and abused as a child, both by his peers and his father. He develops panic/anxiety attacks as a result of the physical and mental attacks.
Having no friends and living in a strict religious household growing up, Noah never fully developed social skills. He is arrogant, has issues with anger management and is very particular about himself and his surroundings, making him a difficult person to be around.
Noah is often considered a jerk by those who don’t know him well, but for those that do, would say that he is a loyal, direct, and supportive friend.
When he meets Josh, his entire outlook on life changes. He finally has a person who cares about him and gives him a reason for being. This doesn’t happen easily though, as Noah as a deep-seated self-loathing from his repressed homosexuality. He struggles to balance what path his head tells him to follow, versus what his heart wants, which is Josh.
Josh Hill is a lovable struggling actor barely making it by in Hollywood. He has charm, looks, talent and smarts in abundance. He also has a heartbreaking past that continues to follow him around, no matter how hard he tries to overcome it. Josh deals with internal issues like self-doubt, guilt, an inferiority complex, and naivety.
He is finally blessed with a shot at stardom after being cast as the love interest opposite Noah Sinclair. What seemed like a one in a lifetime dream, ends up being a total nightmare after he gets to know Noah better.
The two struggle to find their common ground, and eventually find out they have more in common than they initially realized. Co-stars, lead to a deep friendship, that eventually morphs into something more.
Josh finds himself falling for his best friend Noah. He must make a choice, stay silent and never let him know his feelings or tell him the truth and risk losing Noah forever.
Soon, they start to explore their true feelings for each other. What follows is a love story that is beautiful, raw, humorous, and intense.
Their family and friends play a huge role in the overall story arc. There’s Gemma, Noah’s castmate and former girlfriend who is his best friend and emotional supporter, Chloe, Josh’s twin sister, who advises and helps him. Their friend group includes Olive, Sarita and Ash, as their wackadoo castmates.

What is the story behind the Series’ title?

Music plays a huge part of my life. For both books, Just Like Heaven and True Faith, I chose song titles from music groups I adore. I wanted to infuse my love of music and 80’s style synth/emo pop into my books. So, the titles and part names in the books follow titles from the artist.
Just Like Heaven is a song title from The Cure. I love this song because it feels like an ethereal rebirth. This is exactly what Noah experiences once he meets Josh. He moves from a dark space into a room filled with light, wonder and hope. He’s living in a dream. It’s perfect for their story.
I continued the 80’s synth trend by using True Faith from New Order.
I chose this title because it deals directly with the themes explored in the book. One of the main characters has his world turned upside down after a unique opportunity presents itself. He makes a choice that ends up affecting not only his own life, but all those around him. He must live with the consequences of his decision.
The song speaks to the reality of moving from childhood to adulthood, the randomness of life and fear of change. It is a move from innocence to awareness and how different your world looks upon reflection.
