What is the main thing you want readers to take away from your book?
When readers finish Passion Punch or any of my books, I hope they feel like they’ve just been on a fun, funny, thrilling, steamy tropical adventure. Basically, the best vacation ever. 🙂
What are you working on now?
Passion Punch wraps up a three books series, but I’m not quite ready to leave the world yet. So, I’m planning a spin off called “The Lost Souls’ Treasure Series” featuring Mitch Thompson, a treasure hunter and the father of the heroine in book one of the Key West Escape Series, Rum Runner. Mitch puts together a team of misfits who set off to find pirate treasure and take on side jobs finding lost people or things to fund their expedition.
Do you have a day job? / What was your job before you started writing full time?
I do have a day job. I work in IT for a Hospital system as a Clinical Application Analyst.
The biggest surprise you had after becoming a writer?
My favorite author Diana Gabaldon has congratulated me on my books on Twitter at least 4 or 5 times. Every time, it’s a big surprise, and it makes me giddy with delight.
The toughest critic that’s ever been given to you as an author?
I’m my own toughest critic. Ask my publisher. 🙂
What do you like to do when you’re not writing?
I enjoy reading or listening to audiobooks, watching TV, dining out, traveling, participating in charity walks, and fangirling over the Outlander Series with my friends. (I’ve met Sam Heughan aka Jamie Fraser several times at fan events.)
What are your top three favorite books of all time?
It’s hard to pick just three, but I’d have to go with A Kingdom of Dreams by Judith McNaught and Wild Orchids by Karen Robards, two classic old school romances that I’ve read multiples times over the years. And my all-time fav is, of course, Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. The first time I read the book, I got to the last page, stared at it for a moment letting it all sink in, and then I flipped the book over and started reading it again. It’s the only book I’ve ever wanted to do that with.
Favorite actor and actress.
Chris Pratt and Karen Gillian. Actually, if my first book Rum Runner was ever made into a movie or TV series, I would love to see them play the hero and heroine, Jimmy Panama and Sophie Davies-Stone.
If you could have any accent from anywhere in the world, which would it be?
A Scottish accent. I’m in love with Scotland and Glasgow in particular, and I adore the sound of a Glaswegian accent.
Why did you choose the shirt you have on?
It’s a men’s Captain American t-shirt and I chose it because it’s comfy. I have to dress up for my day job, so I like to spend my weekends in t-shirts, jean capris, and sandals. I live in Florida, so my wardrobe doesn’t really change much throughout the year.
