I really like this one, I have a thing for Heroines who are not sweet and caring and this one seems just like a nice badass (Besides, you do know I have a thing for Texas too, right?). I liked her so much that I asked Author Karen to talk a bit more about her. So, without further ado, here’s the story.

Hi Karen, and thank you for being here! The Heroine does a complete 360 in the story. From a serious, hard-working woman, she lets go and decides to be crazy for once. I’m sure the book will explain it all but can you tell us a bit more about her?

Special Agent Katherine Bowden survived a horrific attack during high school in which a sadistic killer kidnapped her friend and left her for dead. Since then, she’s dedicated her life to hunting serial killers like the one who’d committed the still unsolved crime against her friend. She partly blames herself for not fighting back hard enough to save her friend, and for surviving while her friend hadn’t. As such, Katherine’s become a workaholic, a trait that jeopardized her marriage according to her cheating husband. 

At the start of the book, Katherine is fresh off her humiliating and crushing divorce and has finally given into her friend’s coaxing to take a night off and live a little. When she gets a super sexy lap dance from Dallas Heat’s hottest dancer, Nash Hawkins, she gives into temptation at her friend’s urging and decides, just this once, to have a one-night stand. However, their explosive sex doesn’t end when it turns out Nash is also a private investigator with information that can help her hunt a serial killer stalking young women in Dallas. Working with Nash, she connects with her spontaneous, playful, passionate side and learns she can balance career and a relationship when it comes to the right man.
