I’d come to find out Killian Connery was a man of few words. Whether it was by elevating me to new heights of passion with his wicked tongue or by slamming an opponent into the boards, Ki was a larger-than-life. He was a guy men envied and women lusted after. After all, who could resist a six-foot four wall of muscle with mesmerizing, grey eyes and tousled, raven hair? Trisha Harley McCarthy is a certified Life Coach and prolific romance author specializing in fantasy, paranormal and contemporary genres.

Loving history, Trisha was captivated by being introduced to historical romance then became enamored with contemporary romance novels. This Jesse character reads like a lot of trouble. How is the dynamic, and the balances in this triangle?

I truly love writing characters that are complicated and especially a protagonist such as Jesse. In the case of Jesse Ward, she was Zoe Simmons’ (lead female character) best friend. My theme’s in stories is angsty books filled with twists and turns. On Ice is no exception. Jesse is blackmailed by Vivienne Connery into stopping her son’s wedding due to circumstances that unfold in surprising ways during the story. Jesse is successful in stopping the wedding. After the couple’s breakup, Jesse follows Ki (male lead) to Detroit and they become a couple. She portrays her ideal life on social media unbeknownst to Ki who still is heartbroken over his split with Zoe. Zoe can’t help but see her former fiancé and Jesse Ward splashed all over the tabloids and the media furthering their duplicity. Jesse and Ki gravitate toward each other for their own personal reasons which causes further betrayal for her former best friend. Both Ki and Jesse are pining for other people.The story continues as Ki is transferred back to San Jose Otters and back into Zoe’s world. This is when the truth comes out and a media scandal is about to be unleashed when Jesse unwittingly gives personal information to a paparazzi. As the story progresses, you find a distinction and the fine line between love and hate and the complexities and dynamic interactions between Zoe, Jesse and Ki. On Ice, A Hockey Romance is an intense story of second chances, the act of forgiveness and despite against all odds that love conquers all.
