My List of #Arts #NewThursday13 #BlogHop #MacKade

This hop is hosted by http://newthursday13.blogspot.com, and there you can find a lot of other great lists.

Mine today is about all the arts. Well, not all, but most of them.

And because I have 13 shots, I’ll divide them equally between (and add 2 because because thinking about not having them even would drive me crazy).

Favorite Paints:

Field of Poppies by Monet

Because it reminds me of my childhood home.

The Accolade by E B Leighton

Because of the romance of it.

The School of Athens by Raphael

Because of everything it represents.

Dance

Roberto Bolle.

He’s good with everything he does, but this, this I can’t not stop and watch. He (and classical dancers in general) is what happens when you commit your body to harmony and control. Also, he comes from one town down from mine, but that’s neither here nor there.

Joaquin Cortes

Because yes, obviously.

Michael Jackson

I don’t care much for his songs, honestly, but the man could dance like it was nobody’s business. I would post a video but everything is blocked, so I had to be ok with a picture.

Singers

Eric Church.

He always understands the assignment and delivers every time.

Bon Jovi.

I was an angry child and he put that into music. He “got” it.

Lorenzo.

He’s my buddy, the one who’s doing life with me (the reference to Church’s song is coincidental)

Writers.

Nora Roberts.

All hail the queen.

J R Ward

Everything she writes is so dark, and passionate, and hard in the best possible way.

Edward Rutherfurd

London and Sarum are unmatched.

Sculptures

Michelangelo’s La Pietá

I cried when I saw it, and I’m not a crier.

Nike of Samothrace

It’s what freedom looks like.

The Kiss by Auguste Rodin
