Circles Interlocked (Circles Complete Book 2) by Daryl Devoré released Sunday in the romance genre.

How do people get into the situations they find themselves in?

Having been betrayed by the man she assumed she was destined to be with forever; Julie Anderson is heartbroken that her love affair didn’t end with the fairy tale Happily Ever After. She leaves town to pursue her dream of being a dancer only to find herself trapped in a job she no longer loves, confined in a relationship with a loveless man, and living day by day regretting what she has become.

Bouncing from failed relationship to failed relationship, Robert Holiday consoles himself with the lie that he sacrificed his happiness so Julie could live her dream.

As fate has a curious sense of humour, eight years later, they wake up in bed together. Now it is up to love to fix what time cannot mend.

Five years – Julie hadn’t seen or thought about him in all that time, and now in the middle of nowhere, he stood on the beach drying off from a swim. Droplets flew as Robert shook his hair. His black mane was shorter than the last time she saw him. The wet ends dripped water on his bare, muscular shoulders. Tricia, an old high school friend, once said he had the body of a male stripper – time hadn’t changed that.

Julie stepped back onto the beach path, transfixed by the sight of the one person she hated. Her repulsion and loathing of him ran so deep she’d repressed all memories of him. She thought he’d loved her, and had taken a chance, opening up her heart and body to him. But instead of returning her love, he proved himself worthy of the gutter from which he’d crawled.

Her body said run, but her feet refused to move as she watched a long-legged, svelte, golden blonde rise from the beach chair. She trickled her fingers down his rippled stomach. His voice floated across the sand. It was a calming sound, which had brought a smile to Julie’s face when he whispered words of love and passion.

Details she thought she’d long forgotten surged forward. She remembered the way his dark eyes smouldered with anger and his sly, innocent grin. His joyous laughter had made her feel the abandonment of a child frolicking in the year’s first snowfall. She moved along the path, distancing herself from the lovers as the blonde undid the strings on her bathing suit top, letting it fall to the sand.

With an unexpected shiver, Julie hurried along the meandering path, returning to the cottage, and to the man she accompanied – who was nothing like her betrayer. Vincent’s sad brown eyes reminded her of a basset hound’s – loyal and true.

Daryl lives and works from her home in the gorgeous wilds of Canada. When she’s not writing she spends her spare time gardening, enjoying the tasty homemade bread her hubby bakes, and attending yoga classes where she sometimes hangs from the rafters like a bat.

How do people get into the situations they find themselves in?

Not only is that question the almost tagline for my latest book – it is also a question that defines my writing. My latest is a re-release of a book that was published under my other pen name. I decided that having more than one pen name and the accompanying 2 blogs, 2 email addresses, 2 Twitter accts, 2 FB accts and so on was too much.

On top of that, there is a new release to get written. A certain faerie is demanding her story be told. There is one more backlist to be re-released under new pen name. There is a new book awaiting its cover. Hang on, I’m getting there!!!

And – LOL – a cover to be created. I’m a jack-of-all-trades indie author.

A LOOONG time ago, I commented on a writer’s blog absolutely astounded that she was writing more than one story at a time. It was unimaginable. And now I am in the middle of it, and I haven’t a clue how I got here.

So how does this almost tagline fit in with my latest release. Book 1 – Dancing in Circles. Julie meets Robert. Julie falls in love. Reality intrudes.

Book 2 – Circles Interlocked – a second chance romance. Julie meets Robert again. Can love win this time?
