“It’s you,” I said, stating the obvious and feeling foolish for doing so.

His smile filled me with lightness.

“It’s me,” he said, as if he’d just returned from the store. In fact, he held a bag of donuts.

Donuts! He vanishes out of the bathroom and materializes out of thin air the next day with donuts?

A second later, the bag fell to the ground, and I was in his arms, kissing him. Putting the ever back into my life.

What was the most challenging part of writing this book?

For me, the most challenging part was figuring out the age of Jessica, my protagonist At the time I started the story, I was immersed in the Young Adult world. But as I was writing a first draft, Jessica kept telling me that no one in high school is ready to marry and live “happily ever after” with their soul mate. The New Adult genre had hit the book world, so I made her a bit older. That still didn’t seem right to Jessica. She wanted to be turning thirty. Of course, she was right. My characters always are!
But I do have to say, that the Pandemic was also a challenging situation. I sold the book in early 2020 with an estimated release date for early 2021. But Covid wreaked havoc with my editor and the date kept getting pushed back and back. I’m easy going and went with the flow of things. Until finally this July, The Time Traveling Matchmaker will be available.
