Author Bio:

Award-winning author, Linnea Tanner, weaves Celtic tales of love, magical adventure, and political intrigue in Ancient Rome and Britannia. Since childhood, she has passionately read about ancient civilizations and mythology. Of particular interest are the enigmatic Celts, who were reputed as fierce warriors and mystical Druids.

Linnea has extensively researched ancient and medieval history, mythology, and archaeology and has traveled to sites described within each of her books in the Curse of Clansmen and Kings series. Books released in her series include Apollo’s Raven (Book 1), Dagger’s Destiny (Book 2), and Amulet’s Rapture (Book 3). Skull’s Vengeance (Book 4 Curse of Clansmen and Kings) is anticipated to be released in late October 2022.

A Colorado native, Linnea attended the University of Colorado and earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemistry. She lives in Fort Collins with her husband and has two children and six grandchildren.

Overview of the Curse of Clansmen and Kings Series

The Curse of Clansmen and Kings series is a historical fantasy that will sweep you into forbidden love, mythological adventure, and political intrigue. The epic tale is set in a politically volatile Britannia on the brink of war with the Romans. The series follows star-crossed lovers caught in the political whirlwinds of ancient Rome and Britannia: Catrin, a Celtic warrior princess with mystical powers and her Roman lover, Marcellus, the great grandson of Mark Antony. The series is envisioned to consist of five books centered around Catrin and Marcellus as they are tested and rise in power in their respective countries from AD 24 to AD 40, when Caligula prepares to invade Britannia.

Overview of Curses

King Amren of the Cantiaci tribe is the father of Catrin, who he fears may be the embodiment of a curse placed on him by his former queen. According to a curse cast by Amren’s former queen on the date of her own beheading, the Raven and Blood Wolf will bring about the downfall of his kingdom. Catrin has a psychic connection to a raven that marks her as a sorceress and the potential downfall of her father’s kingdom. Her shape-shifting half-brother, Marrock, also poses a threat with his ability to summon destructive forces to crush his enemies.

The Antonius family legacy is cursed by the act of damnatio memoriae (condemnation of memory) for Marcus and Iullus Antonius, both of whom fell on their swords in disgrace as a consequence of their liaisons with women. After being exiled to Gaul for almost eighteen years, the son of Iullus Antonius, Lucius, is clawing for political power to restore is family’s legacy out of the ashes of what he considers are Rome’s maligned heroes. Lucius expects his son, Marcellus, to restore his family’s legacy with the same fervor as him. But Marcellus could be cursed with the same fate as his ill-reputed grandfathers as a result of his liaison with Catrin.
