This is a well known story, and I’m always curious as to see how the author keeps it fresh. Poppy artistic aspect, so easily giving itself to misconception and/or judgement), brings the difference here.

It’s due to this scandal that he finds himself away from his home, out of his work routine, and open to friendships that would normally never cross his radar.
When he first meets Poppy, he sees her much like any of the other models or actresses hired to circulate the high end parties he attends. She’s entertainment.
OnlyFans is a site where people pay to see the private collection, or photo stream, from the talent and personalities on the site. But in other countries, where prostitution is legal, it’s used to schedule meet-ups. And pornography is one of the art forms that has flourished on the site.
He’s judgmental. Polite, but there’s an undertone of judgement. The irony is that while he’s the one who is looking down on her, he’s actually partaken in all of those things in the past. And, it turns out, Poppy’s creative work falls within PG realms, and while she might not have a college degree, she’s successful in her own right, and he doesn’t have the moral right to judge her.
When Gabe first meets Poppy, he’s all about her one-dimensional aspects. Her photographs, her celebrity, boasting to friends. As he gets to know her, he begins to see her as a human, with flaws and dreams and heart. As he falls for her, he finds himself re-thinking what he wants not only from a relationship, but what he wants from his career and life.
