Give It Up For The Weekend with JL Peridot ~ Not Suitable For Work

It’s fantastic, when I get to have an author I like coming over, and she talks about another author’s book I loved! This is exactly what happens today.

JL Peridot writes love stories and more from her home in sunny Western Australia. When not writing stories, she chats with her readers via her newsletter, blogs about random stuff, plays Dungeons & Dragons, and drinks a lot of matcha tea.

For this weekend, I’d like to recommend Not Suitable For Work (NSFW) by Skye McDonald. NSFW is an enemies-to-lovers office romance about two web designers duped by their new employer into competing for their job. I know, pretty rude, right? And yet, that’s the least of their worries…

The real problem is the chemistry between them. That’s when things get really rude, and you know what? I’m totally fine with that 😏

This book surprised me by how much it got under my skin—in a good way. The characters are full of heart and portrayed so vividly, it was hard not to get invested. Ben exudes an oh-so-sexy Matthew McConaughey brand of cool, while Celeste embodies a feisty, stubborn Mila Kunis charisma. Her journey from “cold, self-preserving ice princess” to “authentic, self-possessed modern woman” truly moved me to tears.

She owns it by the end. And I had to put down my e-reader and soak up the feels with back of my sleeve 😭

Not Suitable For Work is the first book in the Anti-Belle series, a collection of contemporary romance novels set in Nashville, Tennessee, featuring strong, sassy women who learn to love themselves as they navigate the perilous territory of love. The other two books sound pretty special too. Book #2, Off The Record, is a passionate second-chance romance between two music industry professionals, while the just-released Book #3, Nemesis, a fiery hot take on “brother’s best friend”, sounds ready to combust.

What I liked a lot about NSFW was the pace. This book didn’t barrel along like a film, but rolled from one honest moment to the next the way a TV show or miniseries would. You could devour Not Suitable For Work if you wanted to, or savour it chapter by chapter, taking your time to ponder the characters and their situations as if they lived next door.

Not Suitable For Work by Skye McDonald is available on Amazon.

JL’s story is amazing, as well! Check it out.

It Starts With A Kiss by JL Peridot released last September in the Sci-fi, Erotica, Romance genre.

Celeste is a talented engineer who doesn’t realize her job’s going nowhere fast. She’s a little naïve. She’ll cut code and solder cables forever as long as Owen’s around. Owen, on the other hand, knows exactly how badly things suck—he just doesn’t care. Sure, his skills aren’t what they used to be, but they’re still better than what Halcyon Aries deserves.

Then it happens. The company’s toxic management team finally cross the line. As both techies race to upgrade the station and to free the team from their oppressive contracts, they come to learn that life—and love—can only ever be what you make it.

Strap in for a steamy office romance in space, because sometimes It Starts With a Kiss!
