Meet the Author:

​A former attorney, Sejal Badani left the law to pursue writing full time.

Hi Sejal, and thank you for being here!

How long have you been writing? 

It feels as though I have been writing my whole life! I started writing poems when I was around seven. I wrote short stories in high school that got published and I wrote my first book after college. I always knew I wanted to be a writer though the journey to publication was longer than I hoped. 😊

What is your next project? 

I have multiple projects I am working on currently.

1) My third women’s literature novel will likely be available summer of 2020. The book is tentatively called The Last Dream.

2)  I just started Book 2 of a young adult series I am co-writing with my teenagers. Book 1 – The Circle: Taken was a lot of fun to write and we are expecting it to be a 4-5 book series. The plan is to utilize the summer while they are not in school to finish the second book.

3) I am also working on the screenplay for The Storyteller’s Secret as well as another screenplay.

Do you write every day? 

I try to take a few days off occasionally but I write almost everyday. I find I’m happiest when I’m writing.

Favorite dessert?  

Warm homemade brownie with vanilla ice cream

Is there a specific ritualistic thing you do during your writing time? 

I almost always have my earbuds in with music from Bruce Springsteen, Beyonce or Ed Sheeran on.

What is the last great book you’ve read?
