The author is absolutely right. Amish stories are usually sweet, and while I like stories in the Amish setting, often I miss the punch of other stories. So this book is perfect!

You set the book in an Amish community. Is there a particular reason for it?

Hi Viviana! Thank you for inviting me to write a guest post featuring my new release, Vow of Silence.
I’m especially excited about this book because I wanted to tell a story about what might happen if the Amish world collided with ours and if the violence of our society touched theirs. What would that look like and what would some of those obstacles be?
As in all books, but particularly suspense, the setting is instrumental in adding flavor to a story and hooking the reader with originality. Before I write a book, I ask myself what kind of story would I enjoy reading? What hasn’t been done before and how can I make this book different from others in its genre?
Wow of Silence maintains the feel of a romantic suspense while giving a taste of Amish culture. Staying true to the genre I’m known for writing, this story has a dark side, is a bit angsty, and very sexy. Don’t read this book if you’re expecting Beverly Lewis. So many stories written in the Amish setting are sweet, slow-paced romances. I wanted to write a thrilling Amish-based book that felt contemporary and unique. Telling Josiah and Hannah’s story was a rollercoaster of emotion and I hope you enjoy the ride as much as I did.
