I’m so happy to have the thirst and final book in this sweet series! Also, Lize will talk to us about one of my favorite characters in the story, but one step at the time.
The book is Lies and Deceits (book 3 in the Extraordinary Life of Amy Winston) by Liza O’Connor.
Synopsis.
Despite her lack of dowry and cloudy past, Amy Winston becomes one of the most sought-after young ladies in the London marriage mart. Some desire her for her beauty and charm while others appreciate her unique skills of seeing with her mind, healing with her hands, and disappearing in plain sight. By her choice of husbands, she secures her safety. However, her marriage almost brings the English Parliament to its knees.

And here’s what Liza has to tell us.
Gunter is everywhere.
Well, at least any place that Amy is at. Only, being a giant of a man, and not of fine enough birth, Gunter will lurk out in the gardens with a pair of clippers, pretending to be the gardener, when Amy is at a ball. But rest assured, if Nicolas had tried to abscond with Amy, Gunter would have stopped him. However, since Nicolas had no claim on Domnika, Gunter was confident that Darby would keep her protected. And he did, by mentioning the outstanding IOUs of Nicolas’ wife.
No one wants a scandal at a ball.
Excerpt
The mention of Domnika made Amy look around the corner to see how matters were faring between the romantic couple. She was horrified to discover her guardian, Nicolas Dupree arguing with Darby, while Domnika bowed her head as if she wished to be anywhere but there. In the short two days under her guardian’s care, Nicolas had almost compromised Domnika and would have done so had Ann not offered them sanctuary. That he would have the audacity to approach Domnika in public outraged her.
Ann took control of the situation upon seeing what was about. “Amy, go to the garden and find Gunter.”
“Shall I send him in?” Amy asked, thinking it a bad idea. Gunter was a soldier of common birth and would probably terrify these fine people if they realized he lurked outside in their garden.
“No dear, just stay with him. I can handle this.”
Amy did not want to go to the garden like a child sent to her room, but she knew there was no time to argue the point. Mrs. Halloway needed to intervene soon, or there would be a terrible scandal.
She hurried out the French doors and onto a massive stone porch that opened to a very large garden. It had to be several acres. How would she ever find Gunter in so much foliage?
Author
Liza O’Connor’s favorite books are Pride & Prejudice and Douglas Adams’ four book trilogy, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Go figure…
Raised in the southern mid-section of U.S., Liza escaped to the East Coast once out of college. She’s worked as a journalist, a radio DJ, a security guard, a stock broker, a strategist, and a business solutions consultant to name a few of her many occupations. Again…go figure.
She learned to fly planes, jump out of planes, hang-glide, kayak and scuba dive, to name of few of her ‘let’s kill Liza’ sports. However, her favorite activity is to hike with her dog Jess among the shaved mountains of NJ.
