today I have Izzy Szyn, author of Zoe’s Mates, previously released under the title Sexual Healing in the Coming In Hot Boxed Set and now re-released and edited with some new material.
Hi, Izzy, and thank you for being here with me! How did you come up with the idea for your book?
I signed up for a medical boxed set called Coming in Hot, I thought of writing a sexy version to General Hospital. But instead of GH, Zoe’s Mates turned more into the spinoff Port Charles when it went paranormal.
What sort of research did you do to write this book?
I researched mostly what a paramedic does, but to be honest, like General Hospital there isn’t really much regarding actual medicine. 🙂
If your novel were being made into a movie, whom would you pick to play the lead roles?
Omg, hmm I think Ryan Gosling as Liam, not sure on the others. It’d be interesting to see what readers think. If you read Zoe tell me what you think.
If your story had a soundtrack, which song would it be?
Sexual Healing since that was the original title.
A fun fact about writing your book.
My computer died 10 days before the book was due. I lost everything but maybe a couple chapters that I had saved on OneDrive. Luckily I had a few days vacation, so I took them and wrote it and made the deadline. That’s how it ended up being a paranormal instead of contemporary. I was writing a scene between Liam, Brent and Zoe and all of sudden they were biting her neck.
Did you always have the reins of the story or the people in it tried to take over?
They take over.
What are you working on now?
I have squirrel syndrome. LOL Right now I’m working on Carrie’s Seduction for an LGBT boxed set that releases in February. I’m still in early stages but it takes in another realm of Earth. This one is Landia.
Do you have a day job?
Yes. I want to write full time, but until I can make money writing that won’t happen.
What started you on the path to writing?
I was dared by a few friends.
What does a typical workday look like for you?
I get up at 4:30 am, (I am so not a morning person), start work at 6:30. Answer calls (I work in a call center) and pray the phones will be quiet so I can write.
How do you keep from resenting your duties when you have to stop writing to take care of them?
Yes, especially when I’m at day job.
What do your friend and family think about your being a writer?
Most of them are supportive, some don’t know because they are ultra-religious and my writing is not something their church would approve of :).
What does your writing space look like?
I write on the couch. 🙂
Do you outline books ahead of time or are you more of a by-the-seat-of-your-pants writer?
By the seat. Outline gives me hives.
What has been one of your most rewarding experiences as an author?
When authors I admire say they like my writing.
Do you have quirky writing habits?
Popcorn, M&Ms and pepsi.
Is there anything about the writing life that you think is misunderstood by the public?
That we make oodles of money.
How long does it take to write a story?
A couple of months.
What do you like to do when you’re not writing?
Watch TV, I love Big Bang Theory.
What are your top three favorite books of all time?
Family Man by Jayne Ann Krentz, Diamond Girl by Diana Palmer and Naked In Death by JD Robb.
If you were stranded on a deserted island and can have only 2 people with you, a person from your books and a person from any other book, which would they be?

Thank you, Izzy, for being here today! Now, let’s see what Zoe’s Mates is about.
Paramedic Zoe Whitaker is set to become engaged to Saratoga Falls Hospital’s Chief of Staff Derek Barnes. But when his twin brother Liam returns with his lover Brent Taylor, Zoe begins to think she’s with the wrong twin.
Liam and Brent came back from Ravana for one reason only, to claim Zoe Whitaker.
“What are you doing to me?” she asked them. “Making you ours,” Brent brushed the hair from her face. “You’re our mate, we’ve waited too long to take what is ours. What has always been ours.” Lifting her by the waist, Brent laid her across the padded bench in front of the couch. Kneeling between her thighs, Brent opened her lower lips, before sinking his tongue inside her. “BRENT,” she cried out. Damn, that felt good, she thought, opening her thighs wider, her hands going to Brent’s head, pressing him closer.
Suddenly Zoe was glad that Derek wasn’t willing to do this for her. It seemed right that Brent and Liam were the first ones to give her the experience she’d always craved. “I love this table, it gives us the right angle to do certain things,” Liam said.
Zoe’s head lowered, Liam’s cock near her lips. Mentally licking her lips in anticipation. She just hoped she did it right, “Liam, I’ve never,” she started to admit.
You’ve never sucked cock before?” asked Liam, “Derek is even dumber than I thought. I’ve been waiting for the day that I can see your sexy lips wrapped around my cock. Sliding in and out of your mouth, down your throat.”
“OH FUCK ,” she yelled. Her body stretched, never in a million years did she think it would ever feel this good.
