Hi all,
today I have the pleasure to meet up with Chance Welfrey from the Rituals of the Night Series.
Paranormal trickery, slasher horror, and suspenseful obsession, the Rituals of the Night Series tells the harrowing tale of Luna and Chance and what can happen when desire oversees reason.
Hi Chance, and thank you for being here. Have you ever had a nickname?
Never had my own nickname but I always imagined if I did it would be something short and mysterious like ‘X’.
Profession?
I do believe this one best stays blank.
I won’t push, then. Are you happy about your life?
Are any of us?
Fair point. Do you try to change something about it?
I work every day against the odds to try and better improve my life, to acquire the things that I feel I’m missing. I’d be crazy not to, right?
Have you ever thought your life would be made into a book?
My life is too great for it not to be.
Your thoughts on love.
Trick question, right?
You’re a sneaky one. What would you change about yourself?
Not a thing. I am perfection.
And with no apparent self-esteem problems. Which talent would you like to have?
I’d like to have more of a showy talent like singing, something that people just stop and marvel at.
The quality you most like in a woman.
Intelligence for sure. I appreciate someone who knows how to embrace their individualism, someone who is interesting and outside the box.
And the trait you most despise?
Narcissism. It gets under my skin when someone believes themselves to be all that.
On what occasions do you lie?
On what occasions don’t I?
AH! If you were to die and come back as a person or thing, what would you like to be?
I think it’d be interesting to be a dagger.
What kind of impression do you make on people when they first meet you? Is that accurate?
I come across as confident and endearing and I like to believe it’s accurate.
It is, it is. Is there anything you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t done?
I want great power and respect so I hope to get some kind of job that reflects this…like a police chief or something of the sort.
Worst and best thing that happened to your life.
Worst, my childhood. Best, my gift.
The worst thing you’ve ever dome to someone and why.
I plead the fifth!
Ok, granted. What are you most afraid of?
Ah, that’s something that gets revealed with time if you follow my saga.
Gotcha. The perfect night out.
Going to get something to eat at a nice restaurant before going for a long drive.
The perfect vacation.
A week in the woods with no electronics and no interruptions, just me and nature.
What would you change about Luna?
I would make her just a bit less stubborn and a lot more affectionate.
What do you like about her?
I love that Luna is strong willed, intelligent, and set in her ways…despite how difficult those traits make my job.
Your first thought and impression when you first met.
I thought she was the girl of my dreams…she just reeked of perfection.
If you were an animal, or a shifter, what animal would you be?
Something mysterious yet ferocious—something beautiful and not to be messed with. Something like a wolf.
What would you do if:
someone tried to blackmail you. How easy or difficult would it be?
They would find themselves in a kind of Hell that would make them quickly regret that decision.
You arrive home to find your door unlocked and slightly ajar, and you’re sure you locked it on your way out.
Knife out, guard up, and go in that bitch.
You wake up to find a poisonous spider on your pillow next to his/ her head.
I’d say befriend it. Sounds like a powerful ally to me.
Someone else takes credit for your work .
It would be the last thing they ever did.
Someone told you today that you are destined to fulfill a great prophecy.
I’d walk with confidence, just the same as I do every day.
What bill do you hate paying the most?
I don’t have any bills I pay myself. I stay with others so much, my bills are theirs.
Why did you choose the shirt you have on?
It’s classy. I think it’s nice to dress up once in a while and I know if I look good, I feel good.
First thought when the alarm goes off in the in the morning?
Fuck.
You know, that’s kind on mine too! Do you miss being a child?
Hell nah.
Up early or sleep in.
Early bird gets the worm. If you wanna be successful, you gotta be willing to put in the effort.
Well, it certainly was a pleasure to have you here, Chance.
Ritual of the Night is a 3 books trilogy, and Survive at Midnight its last installment.
