A chat with Salli Calligaris from Cut And Blow AND Ashleigh Giannoccaro

Hi everybody!

Today I have a double treat: Salli Calligaris, the Hero from Cut and Blow 2 is here, and the woman who gave us his story, Ashleigh Giannoccaro, tagged along.

So, let’s start with the Hero, Salvi Calligaris.

20427709_10155141518674079_639548877_nHi Salvi, and thank you for being here. Have you ever had a nickname?

Yes, it’s Rat.

Shady criminal stuff.

Are you happy about your life?

Not right now.

Even if you’re not fond of it, have you ever thought your life would be made into a book?

If it does I hope my mother doesn’t read it.

Your thoughts on love.

I used to think it was a crock, but I might be changing my mind.

Talking about changes, what would you change about yourself.

Nothing, I like being me.

Your greatest extravagance

I’m not really an extravagant guy.

Your quirky habits?

I like watching people.

On what occasions do you lie?

I’m in the mob, I lie a lot.

What kind of impression do you make on people when they first meet you? Is that accurate?

They probably think I’m shady, and I am.

Is there anything you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t done?

Anything or anyone? 😉

Ha! Worst and best thing that happened to your life.

The worst thing you’ve ever done to someone and why.

I sold someone out, so I could get the one thing I wanted most. They’re dead and I still don’t have it.

What is in your refrigerator right now?

Wine and leftovers.

Favorite dish.

My Nonna’s pasta

The perfect night out?

Staying in… my bed mostly.

What would you change about the Heroine.

She’d pick me…

Your first thought and impression when you first met.

I have to know her, then some dirty stuff I’d rather not say out loud. I don’t want to make you blush.

If you were an animal, what would you be?

A rat, it’s my nick name for a reason.

Your obituary would be …

The Rat.

What would you do if:

someone tried to blackmail you. How easy or difficult would it be?

I’d kill them, and there’s enough ammunition out there that I’m sure someone will try it.

You wake up to find a poisonous spider on your pillow next to her head.

Sorry, you’re on your own I don’t do spiders.

Someone else takes credit for your work.

Shrugs it off, it happens all the time. I’m invisible to most.

You wake up in a room and bed you don’t recognize.

‘Oh, hell! Again’

A natural disaster traps you on your way to an important destination

Have a beer and wait, you can’t mess with God or the weather.

Someone told you today that you are destined to fulfill a great prophecy.

Laugh, and laugh and laugh.

Let’s go back to the daily life. What bill do you hate paying the most?

I don’t really pay bills…

Why did you choose the shirt you have on?

She likes it.

First thought when the alarm goes off in the in the morning?

I should have drunk less last night.

Do you miss being a child?

Not for one minute, my childhood was hell.

Is marriage outdated?

Marriage to who?

Thank you, Rat.

Now, let’s go to the woman who chronicled your story, shall we?

Hi Ashleigh, and thank you for coming by. How did you come up with the idea for your book?

Cut & Blow was a mixture of watching a bad soap opera in another language and spending the day a hairdressing college.

What sort of research did you do to write this book? Besides hairdressing.

This series is mostly for fun and not emanate to be super serious, so just a little research, mostly just people watching.

Did you always have the reins of the story or the people in it tried to take over?

These characters were the most unruly bunch of lunatics I’ve ever tried to control – they did what ever they wanted!cb teaser 3

Kinda saw that answer coming, after chatting with Rat. What are you working on now?

Cut & Blow 3, as well as Written In Flames, co-written with Eva Logan.

What does your writing space look like?

Organized chaos! I am super messy, it’s usually spread over three rooms and every available surface in the house.

How long does it take to write a story?

About six weeks for the first draft, then another six to make it perfect.

Pen or computer.

Music or silence.

Alone or in public.

Routine or when inspiration struck.

Outline or just write.

Just write.

If you were an animal, which one would you be?

My dog … she’s spoiled.

If you could have any accent from anywhere in the world, which would it be?

Italian or French.

A pet peeve.

Purple sweets/candy.

What bill do you hate paying the most?

The husband does that…

Why did you choose the shirt you have on?

It was on top of the pile lol.

Thoughts on gas prices?

I live in Africa so they are RIDICULOUS.

First thought when the alarm goes off in the in the morning?

Do you miss being a child?

No, not really.

What errand/chore do you despise the most?

I refuse to wash dishes …

cb teaser 1Up early or sleep in

Sleep in!

Is marriage outdated?

What famous person would you like to have dinner with?

None, I’m not a huge people person, I’d clam up and die

Strangest place you’ve brushed your teeth?

A petrol station in Namibia.

Thak you for coming by, Ashleigh!
